The Stringer
Stringing Since
Age 14.
My name is Ben Feit, and I've been stringing tennis racquets since I was 14 years old.
I started stringing in the 1980s as a side business so I could afford to buy LP records as a teenager. What began as a hustle turned into something more — I became the go-to stringer for my high school team and for serious tennis players all over Reston, VA where I grew up.
Decades on
The Court.
Tennis has never just been a job — it's been a lifelong pursuit. From competing as a junior to playing alongside some of the best in the game, the court has always been where I'm most at home.
That experience on the court is what makes the difference when I'm stringing your racquet. I understand what it feels like when your strings are right — and when they're not.
ReThink Strings:
My Next Chapter.
After a long career in consulting and executive leadership, I wanted to build something closer to home around a lifelong passion for tennis. Today, Ben is a USRSA Master Racquet Technician (MRT) and strings for recreational, competitive and collegiate players, including players from the George Washington University and University of Maryland women's NCAA Division I tennis programs. ReThink Strings combines decades of experience with a commitment to responsiveness, professionalism, and attention to detail.
I'm not a big box shop. When you bring your racquet to me, you're working directly with someone who plays, who cares, and who will get you back on the court fast — whether you're chasing every competitive edge or just want to enjoy the game more.
Philosophy
Your racquet is only as good as what's in it. The right string at the right tension can transform how your game feels.
There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Your string setup should match your game, your arm, and your goals.
You shouldn't have to wait a week to get your racquet back. I treat your equipment like it matters — because it does.
